H&S Battalion — contest entries, mocked and printed

A staff officer from the battalion came in with three internal contest entries and a simple brief: mock them up, let the committee pick, and put the winner on a skivvy shirt — pocket-front, full-back art. The winning design went on roughly 150 shirts, and the skivvy call turned out to be exactly right.

Internal design contest → one printed shirt

A battalion design contest is one of the best ways to end up with a shirt Marines actually wear — the ranks pick the direction, not a committee guessing at it. We turn the shortlisted entries into print-ready mockups so the selection board can see exactly how each one prints before anyone commits.

The "skivvy" recommendation

For this run, we recommended printing on skivvy shirts — the white/OD/green base-layer tees Marines already wear. It meant the design stayed uniform-compatible in the field instead of becoming a one-event shirt. Small per-shirt upcharge on the base blank, significant lifespan payoff.

Good fit for: battalion identity runs, anniversary tees

If your unit is running a contest, hitting an anniversary, or consolidating a new identity — this is the exact workflow. We handle the art direction, the mockup pass, the invoice, and the print. You focus on which design the battalion wants to see on itself.
